of call of duty: modern warfare 3 & special forces

I have to say that I have been a fan of CoD franchise since the 1st instalment. Completed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 single player campaign in 8 hours earlier on veteran mode. It's always crazy as it seems like the whole army is up against you with insane accuracy which stalled me for a few good parts.

Following on where it ended off in MW2, it's back to revealing a sinister terrorist plot to the whole world that aims to incite another world war between super powers. Though largely involving US, Russia & Europe, I love to see how China can come into the picture. Well not yet for now in this instalment!

I am seriously a laggard, as this was held on hold due to the intense exam revisions not too long ago and I did not want to indulge myself too much on electronic friendship. Still I enjoyed travelling around the world, and it feels like being a part of a Hollywood blockbuster yet again involving all the know special forces units around the world. That is exciting!

Working with United States Navy SEALs in taking over a Russian submarine, and launching cruise missiles to sink the rest of the Russian Fleet in New York?

Being a member of the British SAS in trying to stop a gas attack in UK? It slipped out of my mind and I did not take any screen shots for this part :/

Aiding the French GIGN in Paris to capture a high value target? It's a shame that I couldn't save the Eiffel tower.

German Leopard tanks providing cover while you advance in Berlin before a building fell on top of you? I had to replay the entire mission as one auto save had me stuck in the cross fire between the tanks and infantry as I kept dying instantly after re-loading the last auto-save.

And mostly, being an ex-Spetsnaz or a Delta Force member trying to stop the bad guys in their way.

Sounds really crazy, but I was a part of some of the elite few in the world known to date and I took a pretty nice tour of some well-known cities in the world! And by looking at the statistics of me getting shot in game, I would have died a couple of hundred times by now if it did happen in real life.

Exciting instalment and is definitely a good 8 hours of game play. I did try a bit of the Special Ops mode which is pretty interesting as well, but did not try the multi-player on-line. The in game graphics are superb, just not too sure why my print-screens are a bit far off from what I see. Let me know if there is a better program out there to capture screen shots!

Harima rates this game: 8.9/10

hougang by-election, absinthe 2.0.1 & facebook ipo

It's been a while since I last posted something on my blog. In summary I'm done with my exams!!! That's it for my 3 years of undergraduate studies. I have done my best and God will do the rest as He is able to make the impossible, possible. There is only so much an individual can do, and as much as we would like to be in control, we can never be in control.

God, let thy will be done. Use me mightily for Your kingdom, let me be a blessing to others! God is amazing as He just places lots of people to help me to where I am today, and He is still working on it 24/7... Sheer awesomeness.

Resumes have been flying all over the place to potential employers... A little note to self, I should really get some studio photographs done.

Have been reading lots of books to add value to myself? Did I? Maybe I should ramp it up!

On a more exciting note which I did not follow closely, today is the Hougang by-elections. Hope to see my favourite Returning-Officer that will be returning later.

Untethered jailbreak Absinthe 2.0.1 is out yesterday for iOS 5.1.1 (Build 9B206), and be careful not to update to iOS 5.1.1 (Build 9B208)! Read more about it here and here.

Download for:
Win
Mac
Linux

Do follow the steps closely to avoid any issues.

That aside, I was pretty right spot on for Facebook IPO. It's risky, not to mention they have intangible liquidity? Correct me if I am wrong but it is not something that I will invest in, at least for now.

More on Google Finance.

Cheers and God bless all my readers! Have a great weekend!

the mood for poems...

Just trying... and you can opt to ignore the nonsense from me lol:

I love to eat,
but I do not like to eat much.
When I eat,
I always eat too much!

help: contacts lost after iOS 5 upgrade

In the recent spade of events where you panic after updating to iOS5 on your iphone, I believe this will be useful to refer to. :)

Many thanks to the original contributer taken from here:

Solution #0

Sorry to throw this in, but I feel the contacts disappearing is just because your phone isn’t done syncing:

  1. Connect your iPhone to iTunes
  2. Click on your iPhone in the left panel under devices
  3. Click “Sync” in the lower right corner.

Please give your phone a chance to restore.  Remember, a new OS means a fresh install, and restoring a backup.  If you interrupt that (as I did) you may not have all your apps, settings, songs, etc.

Solution #1 – The Text Message Fix

This seems to be the most popular solution if you can see your contacts in your text messaging:

  1. Open a recent Text Message
  2. Tap the top of the screen (scrolls to the top of the message)
  3. Tap “Contact”
  4. Edit the contact in some way (add an email, new fake phone number or something, you can delete later
  5. Hit the “Back” button

You should have your contacts back.  Please delete the “edit the contact in some way” if you don’t want it.

Solution #2 – The iCloud Fix

This is probably related to problems with iCloud:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Click on “iCloud” (it’s in the app section if you scroll down)
  3. Turn off your settings
  4. Turn them back on

Again, this probably triggers a “re-sync” with iCloud to force contacts back.

Solution #3 – The Import from SIM Fix

This fix relies on you storing contacts in your SIM card most likely:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Click on “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
  3. Click “Import SIM Contacts”

I wouldn’t rely on this as it may vary based on carrier.

Solution #4 – Reset Your iPhone

Reset and force a re-sync:

  1. Make sure you are connected to iTunes and online
  2. Turn off your iPhone
  3. Turn it on again
  4. iPhone should sync automatically (this could take time, don’t interrupt it!)

Hope it works!

Solution #5 – Restore Your iPhone

Last resort:

  1. Plug iPhone into Computer
  2. Launch iTunes
  3. After it’s done syncing, right click on iPhone (under devices in the left) and click on “Restore from Backup”
  4. Choose one (it may not be the most recent, some folks have bad backups just before the upgrade)
  5. Let the iPhone restore completely
  6. DO NOT CONNECT TO iCLOUD
